Congratulations to Yona DeShommes on your new promotion to Associate Director of Publicity at Atria Books.

Yona Deshommes has been promoted to Associate Director of Publicity. Since joining the company in 2006 Yona not only holds the record for the best rendition of Happy Birthday ever sung in the building, she has handled bestselling campaigns for Zane, Janet Mock, T.D. Jakes, Common, and Wil Haygood’s Butler. With a quick response of “I’ve got this” she has proven to be an invaluable resource to not only our list but to our publishing partners at Cash Money Content and Beyond Words. She is a member of the Women in Media group and has represented Atria at the Anguilla Literary Festival. In addition, Yona has continued to increase the visibility of our African American publishing program and authors in mainstream magazines such as Parade, Rolling Stone and Details to name just a few.
